Farshad Ghanei

Farshad Ghanei received his BSc in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, and MSc from State University of New York at Buffalo. He defended his PhD in Computer Science and Engineering in 2019 under supervision of professor Karthik Dantu, in the area of operating systems and embedded systems. He was awarded “Graduate Dean’s Scholars Award” from Liesl Folks, Dean of School of Engineering and Applied Sciences in 2013, “Best poster Award”, and “Best Graduate Leadership Award” from the CSE department in 2017, and “Graduate Teaching Award” in 2019. He was the instructor for CSE421/521 Introduction to Operating Systems course in Spring 2019. Outside work, he enjoys playing games and outdoor activities. He has a Black Belt Dan III in Nearu Martial Art, and teaches self defense.
